Merge of two Wrocław hospitals

In accordance with the resolution adopted by the senate of the Wrocław Medical University, two clinical hospitals in the capital city of the Lower Silesia – Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Wrocław and the Clinical University Hospital – will be merged into one large, full-profile hospital. Thanks to the merger some of the departments will be made up, e.g. the hospital at ul. Borowska has an A&E unit, but it does not have a paediatric unit, while the hospital at ul. Curie-Skłodowskiej does not have an A&E unit, but it has paediatric units.

It is still unknown how will the organisational structure of the “double” units in both hospitals look like, such as gynaecology, neonatology, surgery, or anaesthesiology, but at the moment no one says anything about reductions of the medical staff, just as of the dismissals of the administration employees. The only information confirmed by the Medical University is the fact that the manager of both hospitals will be Piotr Pobrotyn.
