The booklet “My brother or sister has cancer” is a unique guide published by the foundation “To the Rescue of Children with Cancer”. It targets siblings of sick children, as well as their classmates. It presents the treatment process in an accessible way and helps parents talk to their children about their brother’s or sister’s illness. The authors hope that the booklet will contribute to a better understanding of the problems faced by children affected by cancer and to learning about their daily lives.
We had a hand in the creation of this important publication. We will support the Foundation in further activities related to the promotion and distribution of the booklet and will do our best to ensure that it reaches the widest possible audience, especially among families and relatives of sick children.
The publication of the guide is part of the “To the Rescue of Children with Cancer” foundation’s efforts to build awareness for pediatric oncology and coincides with the “Golden Ribbon” campaign conducted worldwide during the month of September. At this time, non-governmental organizations and public institutions in Poland and around the world are carrying out various campaigns for the benefit of children with oncological diseases. The purpose of these campaigns is to bring the subject of pediatric cancer to the general public and to draw attention to the problems associated with the treatment process and those that arise after treatment.
