NEITHER HAIR FALLS OUT – AN EXTRAORDINARY GUIDE FOR CHILDREN UNDERGOING CANCER TREATMENT

Ani ‘s booklet Hair Fall Out is the second publication in a series of guides for children with cancer. It was published by the Foundation To the Rescue of Children with Cancer. The publication explains in an accessible way what happens to the hair of children undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Hair loss is a common side effect of chemotherapy and radiation therapy

The protagonists of the booklet are Anna, Jacek and Laura, who are undergoing cancer treatment in the hospital. Their stories will help children better understand the process of hair loss and regrowth, as well as tame the emotions associated with it. This is the only such publication in Poland, which tells about the hardships of chemotherapy and radiation therapy in a way that is accessible to children. You can read it together with your child and answer the questions that arise. You can also show that, just as in the case of Annie, your child’s hair will grow back and may even be a little different than before.

A series of guides for children with oncology patients

In the fall of 2020, the first in a series of guides for children with cancer was published: My Brother or Sister Has Cancer. In mid-May this year we managed to publish the second booklet , “Annie’s hair is falling out”.
The paperback book, published by the “To the Rescue of Children with Cancer” Foundation, is available free of charge to patients of the Cape of Hope clinic and their families.

In electronic form, you can download it for free here.

Nettle contributed to both publications. On May 26, 2021, President of the Rescue for Children with Cancer Foundation Miroslaw Szozda handed over printed copies of the booklet about Ania’s adventures to a representative of Nettle.

Nettle will support the Foundation in further efforts to promote and distribute this important publication. The company will also make every effort to reach the widest possible audience, especially young patients in oncology wards across Poland.

Have a good read and let this guide be your children’s friend on the road to health!
